The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede has advised members of the public to ignore some online publications inviting unsuspecting job applicants to apply for some vacancies in the service.

Babanded who spoke through the Service Public Relations Officer, Amos Okpu in a statement in Abuja on Friday recalled that applicants were required in the said publications to visit a certain website indicated as http://immigrationrecruitment.org/?p=apply-online to apply for job vacancies in the Service.

He noted that apart  from  the  fact  that  the  portal address  was unconventional and thus  fraudulent, the entire content of the publication was completely untrue.

“They did indicate therein that screening exercise for applicants is slated for the 19th July, 2021. This is not only false, deceptive but also a calculated attempt to defraud unsuspecting jobseekers”, he said.

The Immigration boss, therefore, urged members of the public to ignore the publication as the Service was currently not conducting any recruitment exercise.
