CRFFN: I will go beyond representing my association if elected, says Ndubuisi Uzoegbo

The Chairman, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Apapa chapter, Mr. Ndubuisi Uzoegbo has said that he will go beyond representing his immediate association if elected to represent the freight forwarders in the Governing Council of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).

It will be recalled that the Ministry of Transportation through the Chairman, Electoral Committee, A.D. Suleiman, had on the 2nd September,2021 released a timetable for the conduct of election of freight forwarders into the Board of CRFFN.

Speaking to newsmen shortly, after he picked his nomination form to contest the said election, Uzoegbo disclosed that he would represent the entire freight forwarders in Nigeria if elected.

His words, “I will go beyond representing my association. If I am to be part of them, which by the grace of God, I will, I will go beyond representing my household which is the association where I came from. I will represent the entire freight forwarders in Nigeria.”

He, however, believed that the incoming Governing Council would perform better than the immediate past Governing Council as according to him, many credible and capable practitioners had indicated their intentions to serve in the incoming Council.

He said, “I think that the incoming members of the Governing Council of CRFFN will do better than the immediate past one because I see them as more of a people who are capable and who know the job. Although you can’t get everything 100% but by the time you have over 60% of them who are capable as against 40% who are not, you can always expect a better result. But when the reverse is the case, you can’t expect anything less. In the last Council, the incapable ones were in the ratio of 80% against 20%.  It was only the minority that knew what the industry was all about and were with experience.

“But the names I am hearing picking up interest to go into the Council, I am seeing people who know the nitty-gritty of the freight forwarding profession. You can’t get someone who is not practicing freight forwarding to come and be part of the governing Council, what can he do? The people who should be there should be people who are on ground as far as freight forwarding is concerned.”

Asked what he would do differently if he got elected, he said, “I am not there yet, so, wait until I get there. I am only telling you that the people I am seeing and the names that I am hearing, although I can still call it rumour, I think there are more credible people seeking to go in than we had in the last Council.”
