… Promises quality education, healthcare for every Anambra girl child

As the world marks the International Day of the Girl Child today, the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra State, Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo has reaffirmed his commitment to creating a society that will prioritize the future of our girl child if elected.

Nwankwo who made this pledge in his goodwill message to commemorate the day observed that this had been one of his motivating factors in offering himself to public service.

“My promise to every girl child today and their parents is, as your Governor, I will provide the educational infrastructure that will permit the growth of whatever talents or skills you have to grow. I will provide greater access to healthcare and ensure at all times that you are protected from molestation”, he said.

He pointed out that the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child reminded each one of them that girl child still needed their attention and extra care maintaining that inequalities faced by girls in areas such as education, professional work, legal rights, medical care, protection also needed to be addressed.

While stating that “A girl child is a pride and future of the nation”, he added that empowering your girl child means empowering your future.”

“Daughters are the precious gifts. Let’s create an atmosphere of love, peace and equality for them”, he further admonished.

International Day of the Girl Child is a United Nations observance which is celebrated every year on 11th October. This day promotes the rights of a girl child and also throws light on gender inequalities that exist in the world.
