NCS appoints four DCGs, 12 ACGs, promotes 2,707 senior officers

The Board of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has approved the appointment of four Deputy Comptroller Generals and twelve (12) Assistant Comptroller Generals as well as the promotion of two thousand, seven hundred and seven (2,707) senior officers to various ranks with effect from 1st January, 2020.

A breakdown of the appointments includes: DCG Abdullahi Babani, DCG Mohammed Boyi, DCG Elton Edorhe, DCG Katherine Ekekezie, ACG Hamza Gumi, ACG Mohammed Abba-Kura, ACG Saidu Galadima, ACG Gimba Umar, ACG Obi Ekwealor, ACG Bede Anyanwu, ACG Mohammed Uba Garba, ACG Kayode Olusemire, ACG Lena Oyama, ACG Florence Inuk, ACG Lami Wushishi and ACG Usman Dakingari.

According to a statement by the Deputy National Public Relations Officer, NCS, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Timi Bomodi, some of the newly promoted Comptrollers were the Customs National PRO Joseph Attah, Babajide Adeniyi, Anthony Udenze, Suleiman Chiroma among others.

The statement disclosed that apart from the 4 DCGs and the 12 ACGs so appointed, 35 Deputy Comptrollers were promoted to Comptroller of Customs, 64 Assistant Comptrollers to Deputy Comptrollers, 118 Chief Superintendents Customs to Assistant Comptrollers, 244 Superintendents of Customs to Chief Superintendents of Customs and 339 Deputy Superintendents of Customs to Superintendents of Customs.

Others include: 995 Assistant Superintendent of Customs I to Deputy Superintendents of Customs, 655 Assistant Superintendent Customs II to Assistant Superintendent of Customs and 257 Inspectors of Customs to Assistant Superintendent of Customs II.

It added that of the 2,707 senior officers promoted, 204 were support staff.

“The Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd.) congratulated the newly appointed and promoted Officers. He further charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them”, the statement added.
