CISN holds 22nd annual lecture, graduation, investiture, awards

The Certified Institute of Shipping of Nigeria (CISN) will hold its annual lecture/graduation, investiture and awards ceremony on Thursday, 18th November, 2021.

The grand annual event with the theme “Securing The Maritime Economy: The Need For Funding And Sustainability Of Infrastructure, Security And Professional Manpower Development”, will take place in the Dr. Princess Vicky Haastrup-CISN Complex on Badagry Express Way, Magbon, Lagos.

A renowned maritime expert, Prof. Kunle Folarin is billed to deliver the lecture aimed at shaping and putting the maritime sub-sector in the right perspective under the Chairmanship of the President and Chairman, Governing Council of the institute, Dr. Princess Vicky Haastrup.

The Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi and the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubair Gambo are special guests and will be assisted by the trio of the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Yusuf Jamoh, Acting Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mr. Mohammed Bello Koko and the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), Hon. Emmanuel Jime Lyambee as well as the Chairman, Academic Advisory Board of the institute, Rear Admiral GSA Ombo (rtd).

The high point of the ceremony will be the cutting of the 22 years anniversary cake to be supervised and carried out by an army of senior maritime administrators, including the institute’s President, Dr. Princess Vicky Haastrup and other maritime eggheads.

The august guests to the prestigious ceremony will be hosted by the Patron and Rector of the institute, Dr. Bamanga Tukur and Prof. Alex Favour Okwuashi respectively.
