The Akwaete revolution recently kick-started by the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo has started yielding dividends

In the on-going meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum in Abia State, all the Governors present at the meeting were seen all cladded in the locally-woven Akwaete.

Our correspondent reported that all the Governors were looking splendid as they step out from their meeting wearing the neatly woven Akwaete clothes.

Among the 13 Governors of the PDP are Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Godwin Obaseki, Ifeanyi Okowa, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Nyesom Wike, Samuel Ortom, Seyi Makinde and Okezie Victor Ikpeazu and Emmanuel Udom.

Governor Soludo has been largely credited with the promotion and marketing of the Akwaete fabrics. In his recent interview with Arise TV, Soludo asserted that his promotion of the local fabric has shot up the demand for it.

This assertion has been proved right with the PDP Governors who stepped out fully cladded in the locally made fabric yesterday.
