… Advises him, his “baby association” to avoid destroying others to grow

A former Chairman, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Murtala Mohammed International Airport chapter, Dr. Segun Musa has described the Chairman, African Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON), Tincan Island port chapter, Mr. Emeka Godfrey Nwosu as an attention seeker adding that he does not have time for such people.

Musa was reacting to a report by this medium on Wednesday where Nwosu tagged him as a meddlesome interloper for accusing the Tincan Island command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) of defrauding importers and freight forwarders to hit the revenue record it released to the press last week in his (Musa’s) previous interview.

He stated that he is a genuine businessman and a customs licensed forwarder of over three decades who do not to feed from snow whitening lies or defending falsehood.

According to him, from 2019 till date alone, his company had contributed over N3 billion to the customs revenue at Tincan and Apapa alone even as he insisted that he could show evidence for that.

“So when we are talking of stakeholders in customs community, we know who we are referring to not just any talkative seeking favors or attention.

“He who goes to equity must go with clean hands and that is why I stand tall for the past 20 years of my 33 years post working experience criticizing Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in areas of shortcomings to turn them round and bring the best out of the service and praises the service in areas of value added.

“My criticism has always been as constructive as I could and officers of in service often appreciate while some realized the truth after retirement and still acknowledge my past criticism that had turned them round and brought the best out of them while in service”, he said.

While stating that Nwosu was a known face to him, he however observed that he was not surprised of his attacks because “he is a member of a new association seeking attention of the NCS for favor and ready to do the bad jobs as long as the customs are ready to smile at their demands.”

“Unfortunately this is not the best way to go in building and nurturing a baby association.

“My candid advise for Nwosu and his baby association is to avoid destroying others to grow because it does not build goodwill and better friendships”, he added.
