… Urges them to give their best to nation building
The Transition Committee Chairman, Orumba North Local Government Area, Hon. Sir Ogo Ekwueme has assured the Corps members serving in the local government of his support to enable them succeed in their areas of primary assignment within the area.
Ekwueme, on Wednesday, was paid a courtesy visit by the Corps members led by their Local Government Inspector, Mr. Onyekachukwu Nnajiofor. The Mayor assured them that “as a Council, we will see whatever we can do to support you, after all, you are coming here to add value to Orumba North… and if you have areas of concern or any areas you feel we can assist … let us know and we will do our best to assist”.
The Mayor also promised to look into the matters of the state of the corper’s lodge and the setting up of the NYSC/Local Government Committee as obtained in other local government to cater for the welfare of the Corps members.
Hon. Ekwueme advised the Corps members not to give up as according to him, this NYSC experience Is something posterity would not take away from them. In his words, “Keep your heads up, do your bit, see it as a call to Service to your fatherland. No matter how difficult the situation is, no matter how you want to feel that you are not part of this country, you don’t blame anybody… It may seem as if the nation is in shambles but it’s the only nation we have and everybody will put in his quota to help the nation and that’s what you are doing by serving your fatherland in NYSC.”
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of a copy of Anambracopa Magazine to the Chairman by the NYSC Local Government Inspector, Mr. Onyekachukwu Nnajiofor.
