… Urges unity, support

The Chairman, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Sir Ogo Ekwueme, this afternoon, met with the Executives and the stakeholders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Oko Wards 1 and 2 at his residence in Oko.

Addressing the gathering, Ekwueme said that he summoned the meeting to interact with them and to personally inform them that he has been saddled with piloting the affairs of the Orumba North Local Government Area as the Transition Committee Chairman.

He observed that as members of the party in his native community, he owe them the duty of conveying the information to them and not to allow them hear it elsewhere.

The Orumba North Local Government boss pleaded with them to give him maximum support even as he urged them to come together as people of one party with common destiny for the task ahead.

He further urged them to put aside their differences submitting that all the contending issues within the two Wards will be looked into impartially with the aim of resolving them and making amends.

He encouraged them to come up with ideas on how to build and reorganize the two Wards for effective and efficient results adding that he can only perform at his peak as the Council Chairman when his home front is peaceful and result oriented.

While insisting that his doors are wide open to accommodate all shades of opinion and constructive engagement, he however warned that there won’t be room for flippancy as there is a lot of work to be done.

Responding, Mr. Tony Ohazulume and Mr. Nestor Okafor, Chairman, APGA Oko Wards 1 and 2 respectively thanked the Transition Committee Chairman for the honour done to them and pledged the total support of the Chairman to deliver on his mandate.

On his part, for Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano, Chief Emmanuel Ozoemena, while thanking the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo for the honour done to Ndi Oko by appointing one their own as the Transition Committee Chairman, urged the Chairman to treat all the communities in Orumba North equally and fairly.

Stakeholders at the meeting who expressed happiness at the appointment, pledged their total support to the Chairman while urging him to take time and schedule meetings with the two Wards so as to identify the problems peculiar to each Ward with the aim to resolve them.

Present at the meeting were: the Transition Committee members representing the two Wards; Hon. Ikechukwu Godson Okafor and Hon. Chukwujekwu Ezeokoye.

Others include: Hon. Chekwube Obi, former Deputy Chairman, Orumba North; Hon.
