… As Ezioko Village Meeting Lagos branch visits him
The Transition Committee Chairman, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Sir Ogo Ekwueme has said that his plan is to partner with critical stakeholders in all communities in the local government to bring even development to the area.
During the courtesy visit paid by members of Ezioko Village Meeting, Lagos branch, the Chairman said that the partnership was necessary as according to him, “it’s we ourselves that can build this local government and being the Chairman, I will try and take the lead.”
While thanking them for the visit, he assured them that by the time he would be through with the job, there would be a difference and there would be one or two projects one can point to in the community that his administration was able to put together.
His words, “I am happy you have come. I am the Chairman. I won’t make that difference alone but together with my brethren in Lagos, America and diaspora.”
Responding, the leader of the delegation, Chief Emeka Ofoma opined that they were at his residence to felicitate with him and to thank God for using him to end the political drought that the community had suffered over the last few years in the hands of the various administrations in the state in the past.
Ofoma said, “We were kind of tensed up when different appointments were being given and when the announcement came, it was jubilation everywhere in Lagos, we were so happy. And we were even happier knowing from where this appointment was made in Oko.
“If there’s anywhere we are going to partner with you, because it’s a very difficult task, we your brothers, one way or the other, will work with you to make this work, even in your future careers. We will be happy to assist in anyway we can to ensure that at the end of the day, this appointment will bring good tidings to the community at large and also give us the opportunity to be able, through you, to participate very well both in the affairs of the state and also in Abuja because we must always go through someone and we have seen the light from where we are going to pass through.”
