… Urges them to remain united for cleaner, prosperous Orumba North
The Wife of the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba North Local Government Area, Lady Chiaku Ekwueme, has charged women in the area to remain united in order for them to achieve a cleaner, safer, healthier and prosperous local government area.
Lady Ekwueme gave the charge when she received the Association of Anambra State Town Unions (ASATU) Women Wing, Orumba North Local Government Area led by her Coordinator, Lady Joy Otti and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA Woman leaders led by the Local Government Woman leader, Mrs. Ogochukwu Ezeokeke at the Council’s headquarters in Ajalli recently.
Lady Ekwueme spoke about her plans to revitalize the skills acquisition centre located at the Council’s Secretariat at Ajalli so as to equip the youths and women of the area with skills set required for economic empowerment. She observed the importance of structure adding that money follows where there is structure.
Her words, “We will build centres where our children will learn skills that will position them to take grants and make good use of them. We have a skills acquisition center here, we will revitalize it. We will teach them, we will equip them. We must bring everybody up to that level as to qualify to take the federal government’s and donor agencies’ grants when they come.”
She, however, urged the women to be united and never allow politics, gossip and envy to divide them insisting that everyone has strengths and weaknesses, so each person can compliment another and in that way, encourage one another while fixing the challenges facing them.
“Unity must be our first port of call, we must be united. There’s nothing that cannot be sorted out, nothing that we cannot solve together as mothers, as sisters, as aunties”, she stated.
