A former National President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders, NAGAFF, Dr. Increase Uche has congratulated the Chairman Governing Board of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, NSC, Alhaji Lawal Sama’ila Abdullahi over his recent appointment as the Chairman of all the Governing Boards Chairmen in the Federal Ministry of Transportation.

Uche, in a congratulatory message made available to our correspondent in Lagos Tuesday morning, described as courageous, the move by the Minister of Transportation, Alhaji Mu’azu Jaji Sambo in appointing former Secretary to the Kaduna State Government as Chairman of all Chairmen of Boards of agencies under the Ministry.

He submitted that the appointment of Abdullahi was a good development having known what they pass through as Board members noting that the need for this collaboration to come into being was very important as it’s going to reposition the entire Boards that had been working at cross purposes, not harmonizing their operations or designation as policy makers.

Describing the new Chairman of all Board Chairmen, Uche who is the Chairman of the Funding and Revenue Generation Committee of CRFFN said, “He is a courageous person, he has the knowledge, the qualities are there and I feel supporting him will make meaning at this point so that the numerous issues, challenges confronting the various Boards can be addressed.”

He recalled that the Heads of Agencies under the Federal Ministry of Transportation had a similar platform which enabled them to meet almost on a monthly basis to discuss issues of common interests to them which he said had helped them to work together and synergize in carrying out their functions.

“As the policy makers of all these agencies, there’s also need that we have similar arrangement. We have to thank the Minister of Transportation for deeming it fit to appoint this particular man, Alhaji Lawal Sama’ila Abdullahi to lead such arrangement. It will add more impetus to his (Minister’s) achievements and some of the teething problems, harmonization of all the Boards operation and others sundry issues can now be enhanced.

“So, I congratulate the Chairman of all Chairmen. I wish him well and I wish him a successful tenure. God will help him. He has our full support. Let him go ahead and reposition the entire Boards, bringing every other person together”, Uche who is also the Vice Chairman of the Freight Forwarders Consultative Forum added.
