Traders at the Main Market, Onitsha, yesterday, cajoled the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano who had gone to the market to campaign for his wife, Ebelechukwu who is contesting for the Anambra North Senatorial seat under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Obiano, in company of his wife and her campaign team, stormed the market to campaign for support and vote for his wife who is the immediate past First Lady of Anambra State in the coming National Assembly election slated for February 25, 2023.

The former governor who started by chanting APGA slogan in order to clear the air so as to prepare the ground for his address, was greeted with the chants of Obi, Obi, Obi… by the traders who would not want him to speak.

As he made efforts to sing his popular APGA song (Ebee ka unu no?  APGAAA!!!), the traders intensified their chants for Obi with some telling them to leave the market as they were not wanted, while some others were busy shouting on top of their voices thereby overshadowing the sound of the microphone.

Disturbed by the development, the governor who was standing in the midst of the traders alongside his wife, quickly suspended his speech and made for his seat together with his wife.

However, rather than sitting down on their seats, Chief Obiano and wife picked their belongings and departed the scene with the former governor waving his horsetail in his usual manner at the crowd who were busy chanting Obi and cajoling him and his wife as they depart the market.
