Lawmaker, Akande-Sadipe loses Mum at 91

The death has occurred of Princess Bamidele Abiose Akande, mother of Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, member representing Oluyole Federal constituency of Oyo State at the House of Representatives.

According to a statement by the lawmaker’s media aide, Lekan Olusada, Princess Akande passed away peacefully on Friday, the 3rd of March 2022 at the age of 91.

Omo’ba (Princess) Bamidele Abiose Akande is the daughter of Princess Sijuolaade (alias Olobaloro), the daughter of the Alafin of Oyo, Late Oba Siyanbola Onikepe Akanbi Ladigbolu (Ladigbolu I). Omo’ba (Princess) Bamidele Abiose Akande father is of the Afolabi family of Ile Kolobo, at Isale Oyo, Oyo.

According to the Lawmaker’s Media aide, Princess Bamidele Abiose Akande has left an indelible mark on this earth.

“We thank God for using her to bring Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe and her siblings into the world, as well as for the many lives that Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe has touched through her work in public service”, Olusada said.

The statement described Princess Bamidele Abiose Akande as a pillar of support to her family and community.

“She was a devout Christian and a loving mother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her passing is a great loss to the family, her Royal lineage, and the nation at large. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her”, the statement read.

“As we mourn her passing, we take solace in the fact that she lived a fulfilled life and left a legacy of love, kindness, and service to others. Her contributions to the community and her unwavering support for her daughter’s political career will always be remembered”, the statement further said.

The statement conveyed Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe’s gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and well-wishers during this difficult time.

“We pray that God grants Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe and her family the fortitude to bear this loss, and we ask that everyone keep them in their prayers during this trying time. We also pray that the soul of Omo’ba (Princess) Bamidele Abiose Akande finds eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord”, it concluded.
