The Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria, MARAN has hailed the federal government over the confirmation of Adewale Bashir Adeniyi as the substantive Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS.

According to Godfrey Bivbere, the President of the association in a statement shortly after the news of the confirmation was made public, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has through the confirmation further demonstrated that excellence will always be rewarded.

“I congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for confirming the appointment of CGC Adewale Adeniyi as the substantive CG of the Nigeria Customs Service, this action has demonstrated that the President will always reward excellence.

“We have no doubt that the CG will be buoyed by this confirmation to do more than he has been doing since he was first appointed in an acting capacity. Once again, we commend the president for this confirmation”, the statement read.

It would be recalled that President Tinubu had on the 19th of June, 2023 announced Adeniyi as the Acting CG of Customs to wide acclaim.
