The Director General of the Sea Empowerment Research Centre, Mr. Uchechukwu Francis Aniezechukwu was last Friday inducted as an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators, NICARB.
The colourful induction ceremony which climaxed the two days national conference of the institute was held between 15th and 17th November, 2023 with the theme, “Repositioning Arbitration And ADR Practice In Africa: Unlocking The Continent’s Dispute Resolution Potentials.”
The national conference which played host to eminent learned silks, successful legal practitioners and other exemplary professionals seamlessly demystified topical issues on the practice of Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution, ADR within the African Continent.
A well organized hybrid event, the conference featured six plenary sessions and two breakout sessions to consider topical issues around other sub-themes, parading speakers of English and French extractions who dug deep and broke the ice in a clinical fashion.
Emerging realities in Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution, ADR, worldwide, were emphasized and the fact that ADR continues to gain significant recognition, massive popularity, and wide acceptance as not just the primary and preferred means, but also the most effective means of dispute resolution outside the traditional courtrooms.
Speaking on his induction, Aniezechukwu who could not hide his joy stated that he was so elated that his efforts and those of his colleagues culminated in resounding success.
He said, “I’m honoured to announce that I was conferred with the prestigious title of ACArb by the Governing Council of the highly revered Nigerian Institute Chartered Arbitrators, NICARB.
“This preferment is an honour thus conferred on professionals having distinguished themselves in practice, character and particularly during the examination.
“Having gone through the rigours of the training and examination, it was time for the preferment of garlands and investiture of awards.
“I’m elated that my efforts and those of my colleagues deservedly culminated in resounding success.”
