The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has announced the appointment of Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha as the acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, COOU.
Omenugha, a Professor of Mass Communication with the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, NAU, Awka, recently emerged as a Member of Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute Of Public Relations, NIPR). She served as a Commissioner for Basic Education, Anambra State for 8 years under the last administration.
A release this afternoon by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime and made available to the newsmen, stated that Omenugha as acting Vice-Chancellor would replace Professor Greg C. Nwakoby following the expiration of Nwakoby’s tenure as the Vice-Chancellor of COOU.
In related development, the Governor also appointed Professor Louis Chukwuemeka Orakwue, as State Project Coordinator, Anambra State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, RAAMP.
