The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Barr Sly Ezeokenwa has called on every Nigerian including the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his onerous task of repositioning the country.

Ezeokenwa who made this known in Awka while fielding questions from newsmen, equally urged the President to urgently fashion out ways to cushion the effects of untold hardship Nigerians were currently facing occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal.

The APGA National Supremo, while speaking on the state of the nation, congratulated the president on his latest Supreme Court victory, noting that the Supreme Court’s verdict on the petitions filed against Tinubu by Obi of LP and Atiku of PDP showed that Tinubu won the February 25, 2023 presidential elections.

He enjoined the opposition parties and other Nigerians to join hands with Tinubu to develop the country.

The former National Legal Adviser of APGA and the immediate past Commissioner for Special Duties, Anambra State decried the economic hardship Nigerians were currently passing through across the country.

He called on the President to set up an investigative panel to probe leaders that were behind the subsidy regime in previous administrations.

According to the APGA’s National Chairman, the removal of subsidy on petrol had hit ordinary Nigerians harder than the government envisioned.

“During his inaugural speech on 29 May, 2023, President Bola Tinubu announced that fuel subsidy was gone. As a result of that announcement, small business owners in the country have seen their businesses shrink as they struggle to cope with the sharp increase in the price of petrol.

“There is a high cost of goods and services in our markets. Many investors are closing down their investment hubs in the country. The president has started well, going by his policies. He should make sure he fulfills up to 50% of his campaign promises and work towards moving the country forward.

“He should endeavour to implement at least 50 per cent of programmes in his development agenda. If the President can implement up to 50 per cent of his programmes, the nation will witness rapid transformation in the near future. So I urged the President to urgently proffer solutions to the myriads of challenges facing the nation”, he stated.

Ezeokenwa noted that APGA had positioned itself in a vantage position to win more elective positions in the country during the next electioneering period.

The APGA’s helmsman urged Journalists to always respect the principle of objectivity in their reportage, adding that journalists as truly watchdogs of society, have a vital role to play in nation building.
