Exchange Rate: Concerned Nigerian Accuses GTBank of Unfair Practices

…Says Bank pegs US VISA Fee at N1,800/$

An X user simply identified as Samzy has accused the Guarantee Trust Bank, GTBank of exploiting Nigerians with regards to the payment rate for US VISA Fee.

In a post on his official handle @SamzyVG with the title, “Excessive VISA Fee Rate: A Blow To Nigerians, the user accused the bank of charging “a hefty” N1,800/$ rate while the current exchange rate hovers around N1,300/$+.

The user observed that GTBANK had unapologetically pegged the payment rate at N1,800/$ despite the fall in Dollar to Naira value.

He maintained that the bank should be called into account for this “unfair act” insisting that Nigerians deserved better treatment and fair fees.

His words, “GTBank’s Excessive Visa Fees Rate: A Blow to Nigerians.

“In recent events, conversations have brought GT Bank’s questionable practices regarding the US Visa fees, with the bank charging a hefty N1,800/$ rate while the current exchange rate hovers around N1,300/$+.

“GT Bank has unapologetically pegged the payment rate at N1,800/$, despite the fall in Dollar to Naira values. 

“It’s time to hold GT Bank @gtbank accountable for this unfair act. 

“Nigerians deserve better treatment and fair fees! 

“Rate is Dropping! Reduce the Fees!”
