…Says innocent son being used as instrument of blackmail against Kwankwaso
The New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP has described as unnecessary and avoidable the mudslinging and abuse of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso allegedly by the greater numbers of the expelled National Working Committee and their allies of the New Nigeria People’s Party.
A statement issued by Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulrazak, the National Publicity Secretary, NPS of the NNPP, observed that Senator Kwankwaso could not have been the first person in authority opportuned to provide job opportunity for his or her children in government of Nigeria adding that it was in the public domain and as such there was no need for names calling.
“We as members of the New Nigeria People’s Party can simply deduce that the innocent son of Senator Kwankwaso is being used as instrument of blackmail against Senator Kwankwaso.
“The untold story is the fear of the unknown as to the reasons over the internal crisis in the New Nigeria People’s Party which is avoidable. The inherent suspicion over the activities of Senator Kwankwaso and dwelling around anti party activities are worrisome to members of the party and in particular, the elected members of the party in government.
“It is apparent that INEC is beginning to ensure internal democracy with a view to limiting number of cases in court before and after the elections. Here we are the constitution of NNPP vested so much powers on the founder and members of the Board of Trustees to call to order any member who acts contrary to the norms of the party’s constitution.
“In this wise, the uninformed members of the NWC acted out of the constitution to pronounce the expulsion of the father of the party who is a life member of the Board. As it were, INEC may have refused to attend any meeting or congress and/or National Convention of the illegal NWC of NNPP if the application is not approved by the founder and Board of the New Nigeria People’s Party.
“The situation became compounded wherein most elected members do not even have the opportunity to employ or recommend a common cleaner or protocol officer of his choice for employment. And so, Senator Kwankwaso’s son may have become a source to vent their anger”, Abdulrazak said.
He recalled that the Acting National Chairman, Alhaji Abba Kawu, was forced to resign ahead of “illegal National Convention and congresses” to institute another puppet that never worked.
“It is on record that the likes of Prof. Alikali, Professor Sam Angwe and Senator Hunkuyi Suleiman have been frustrated out, being a voice against injustice to the founder of NNPP and mismanagement of party funds.
“What is certain now is that the impunity to pronounce expulsion of the founder of NNPP is consequential. Meaning that mistakes of the past and open mindedness to a professional politician like Senator Kwankwaso shall be unattainable this time around.
“The inherent abuse of goodness to Senator Kwankwaso must stop even if NNPP decides to pardon him in due time. Federal character is a constitutional provision and in a national political party, there is no way the Chairman of the party and the presidential candidate can come from the same region. In the last general election for instance, Senator Kwankwaso is from Northwest as the presidential candidate and Prof. Alikali is from Northeast as the National Chairman. Even when you analyse the composition of the NWC members, it is lopsided in favour of the North and indeed, more of Senator Kwankwaso’s stooges. What an abuse of kindness to humanity.
“And so, we can only but advise the elected government functionaries to stand up and be bold to tell Senator Kwankwaso the truth respectfully. Alhaji Ganduje, the current National Chairman of APC described him as a political trader and no one knows what he does next. And for his son being nominated as a Commissioner, it is our advise that we realise that the young man has his life and destiny to contend with and not that of his father.
“He should not be allowed to suffer because of his father’s alleged greed, arrogance and unnecessary pride. While we put Senator Kwankwaso in prayers for wisdom of God and greatfulness, it is our hope that he shall imbibe the tenets of humility ,love and friendship to all manner of people who may come his way “, he submitted.
