…Calls for probe of Bello-Koko’s years of stewardship
Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria, APFFLON has congratulated the newly appointed Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Abubakar Dantsoho.
Mr. Dantsoho replaced Mohammed Bello-Koko following his disengagement as NPA Managing Director by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday.
In a congratulatory message personally signed by the National President of APFFLON, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, he commended the appointment of Dantsoho, describing him as a round peg in a round hole. Ogunojemite said that expectations are high as Dantsoho mounts the saddle as the new NPA Boss.
The National President of APFFLON did not spare the immediate past Managing Director, Mohammed Bello-Koko whom he accused of always shutting his doors against stakeholders.
He described him as the worst Government appointee to manage the Nigerian Ports Authority in recent years calling on the Federal Government to probe his stewardship and make him account for the four years he served as NPA Managing Director.
Furthermore, Ogunojemite reminded appointees of government that occupation of offices is transient as the country does not belong to one particular person, region or tribe.
Otunba Ogunojemite cautioned the new NPA Boss against high-handedness and arrogance and told him to beware of sycophants and praise singers.
Again, Ogunojemite advised the new NPA MD not to toe the line of Bello-Koko but rather synergize with sister agencies and relevant stakeholders to revitalize the Nigerian Ports for seamless ports operation as well as economic advancement.
