ANLCA Group of Nine: I Am Open To Any Discussion, Says BoT Hopeful, Mukaila

The immediate past Sole Administrator and candidate for the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA Board of Trustees, BoT election, Otunba Abdulazeez Babatunde Mukaila has said that although he has no team or group he is working with for now, he is working with God, hence his campaign slogan, “One With God Is Majority.”

Mukaila who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Lagos recently, was reacting to the emergence of a group of nine contestants for the ANLCA BoT election christened “The Group of Nine Like Minds”, who are campaigning together and seeking to be elected into the ANLCA Board as a team.

Noting that he is standing alone with God, he however, maintained that he had not foreclose discussion with anyone or group seeking to discuss with him on the way forward for the forthcoming BoT election.

His words, “My slogan has answered you, I am working with God, one with God is Majority. I have explained to all of you that I came into this contest late and I have started engaging people and telling them the reason for my late response.

“I have made it clear to them that I decided to run because I believe, finally that I have something to offer. So, I am standing alone, I am with God but I am open to any discussion from any quarter. I am open to any discussion.”

Asked to state the kind of people he would want to see as constituting the ANLCA BoT, he said, “In a very simple term, I would want to see people with track record. Track record does not really begin and end within the association itself, if a private business man as a member of ANLCA, you are coming onboard, people should be able to trace you, where you are coming from, who you are, your pedigree, your achievements and what you are bringing to the association. You don’t just come from nowhere and sit on the Board of ANLCA. What have you contributed?

“So, I would want to see people with proven track record that can share the same vision with me, so that together, we can drive ANLCA, redefine the relationship between the Board and the Executive because I just felt that borderline is the issue with ANLCA.”
