Nigeria is currently facing a pivotal moment in its history, as nationwide protests sweep across the country.

The Finance and Business Online Publishers, FiBOP, a body of online publishers focused on finance and business, has urged law enforcement agencies to protect the nation’s economic assets and genuine protesters.

FiBOP recognizes the right to peaceful protest, but emphasizes the need to safeguard the country’s infrastructure and legitimate demonstrators.

The ongoing protests have brought attention to pressing issues such as economic hardship, corruption, and poor governance. However, FiBOP stresses that destroying property and disrupting economic activities will only worsen the situation.

FiBOP calls on law enforcement agencies to ensure that protests remain peaceful and that genuine protesters are distinguished from miscreants. It also appealled to protesters to avoid violence and vandalism, which can harm innocent citizens and damage the economy.

Instead, FiBOP encourages protesters to engage in constructive dialogue with the government to address their concerns.

“The protection of economic assets and genuine protesters is crucial in this critical moment. Law enforcement agencies must ensure that protests do not lead to chaos and destruction, but rather to positive change.

“By working together, Nigerians can address their grievances and build a  future for themselves and their country”, it said.

FiBOP’s call to action is a timely reminder of the need for responsible and peaceful protest. The organization’s statement highlights the importance of balancing the right to protest with the need to protect the country’s economic stability.

By doing so, FiBOP aims to promote a peaceful and constructive resolution to the ongoing protests.

In conclusion, FiBOP’s appeal to law enforcement agencies and protesters is a crucial step towards ensuring that the ongoing protests lead to positive change.

By protecting economic assets and genuine protesters, Nigeria can address its pressing issues and build a better future for its citizens.
