…Charges them to close ranks, build strong association

The Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria, APFFLON has congratulated the National President of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA, Mr. Emenike Nwokeoji, the newly elected Board of Trustees, BoT members, the Association Electoral Commission, ASECO and indeed all members of ANLCA over a successful BoT election which held on Thursday 12th September, 2024 across the three zones of the association.

APFFLON, in a statement signed by its President, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite in Lagos and made available to our correspondent, said that by that election, ANLCA has proven to the naysayers that it is on a journey to recover its lost glory and retake its position as the shining light for the freight forwarding profession in Nigeria.

He lauded the contestants in the last election for the robust campaigns and the maturity that they brought to bear throughout the electioneering period, engaging the members of the association on issues and eschewing name calling and character assassination during the campaigns.

He further commended the Chairman and members of ASECO for the seamless coordination that they brought to bear in the election which took place simultaneously across the three zones of the association culminating into free, fair and transparent election.

Ogunojemite applauded the National President of ANLCA and his NECOM members for providing leadership and the conducive atmosphere which enabled members of ASECO to carry out their assigned duty diligently such that there’s no backlash that usually follow the association’s elections in the last exercise.

While congratulating the newly elected Board of Trustees, BoT members, he urged them to bring the same energy and passion that they brought to bear during their electioneering campaigns to work dispassionately together with the National President and indeed, all organs of the association in uniting the members of the association so as to build a United and formidable association.

He urged them to avoid skirmishes of any kind and close ranks with the members of NECOM and ensure that the crisis of the past were left in the past while building a lasting legacy for the members of the association and indeed, the entire freight forwarding profession.

He prayed God to grant them wisdom to diligently nurture and grow the association that everyone will be proud of even as he wished them a successful tenure.

It will be recalled that ANLCA had on Thursday 12th September, 2024, conducted its BOT elections across three zones of the association namely: West, North and East of Nigeria with the emergence of a new nine member BoT.

The newly elected BOT members are: Taiwo Mustapha, Ernest Elochukwu, Kingsley Offor, Dennis Okafor, Sunday Momoh, Dayo Azeez, Sanni Utai, Tunde Awonuga, and Ademola Mumuney.
