The Finance and Business Online Publishers, FiBOP has announced its decision to honor Victor Kalu, Managing Director and CEO of Zend Technology Company Limited, for his invaluable contributions to innovation and enterprise development. This prestigious recognition is a testament to Kalu’s pioneering efforts in helping governments leverage the informal sector for revenue growth.

Zend Technology Company Limited, under Kalu’s leadership, has made significant strides in revenue collection, particularly in Delta State. In 2023/2024, the company was appointed by the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue to collect revenue from the informal sector in Oshimili South and North.

Kalu’s entrepreneurial prowess extends beyond Zend Technology. As Executive Chairman of Vindi Petroleum, he has implemented an ambitious plan to establish 750 retail points and uniform prices for petroleum products across Nigeria. This innovative franchise model has revolutionized the downstream oil sector.

FiBOP’s Award of Excellence in Enterprise Development and Growth recognizes Kalu’s exceptional leadership and vision. His ability to nurture start-ups into viable and profitable businesses has earned him a reputation as a visionary and articulate business leader.

Prior to establishing Zend Technology and Vindi Petroleum, Kalu was a key player at Globacom, serving as Divisional Manager, Data Business, Regional Manager, Secondary Sales, and Head of Activation Backend. He played vital roles in Globacom’s successes in data business, customer acquisition, and revenue generation.

Kalu’s professional background also includes stints as Country Manager at Torilo, a UK-based technology company, and National Sales Manager at European Personal Care Limited. He is a Fellow of the African Institute of Enterprise Development and Management.

FiBOP’s recognition of Kalu’s contributions underscores his impact on Nigeria’s business landscape. As an egalitarian reformer and industry builder, he has contributed significantly to the growth of businesses in Nigeria’s upstream and downstream oil sectors.

FiBOP’s mission aligns with Kalu’s vision, aiming to promote informed and balanced reporting of economic events and activities. The organization comprises seasoned journalists and media practitioners from diverse digital media platforms in Nigeria and Africa.

The award ceremony will bring together business leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to celebrate Kalu’s achievements and contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth.

“Victor Kalu’s innovative approach to business and enterprise development makes him an exemplary leader in Nigeria’s business community,” said FiBOP’s President. “We are honored to recognize his achievements and commitment to driving economic growth.”

Kalu’s recognition by FiBOP serves as a testament to his dedication to promoting business growth and economic development in Nigeria. His leadership and vision continue to inspire entrepreneurs and business leaders across the country.

As Nigeria continues to navigate its economic landscape, leaders like Victor Kalu remain crucial to driving growth, innovation, and development. FiBOP’s recognition of Kalu’s contributions underscores the importance of entrepreneurial spirit and innovative leadership in shaping Nigeria’s economic future.
