BOAN President,  Olubunmi Congratulates Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa On Electoral Victory

Hon. Olumekun Olubunmi, President of the Barge Operators Association of Nigeria, BOAN extends his heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on his well-deserved victory in the just concluded Ondo State gubernatorial election.  

In his congratulatory message, Hon. Olubunmi commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his commitment to public service and urged him to deliver impactful leadership that surpasses the achievements of his predecessors. 

“Your Excellency, the people of Ondo State have placed their trust in you to lead them toward prosperity. I urge you to set a new standard of governance by implementing policies that prioritize the well-being of the people and the sustainable development of the state”, he stated.  

Hon. Olumekun, a firm advocate for the growth of Nigeria’s Blue Economy and the optimization of its inland waterways, emphasized the transformative potential of these sectors in driving economic growth and creating sustainable livelihoods. 

He urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to explore the vast opportunities within the Blue Economy to further strengthen Ondo State’s economy and position it as a hub for maritime activities.  

He further reiterated his belief in the immense potential of Nigeria’s waterways, referencing his famous words, “Ọba Ọmí ju Ọba Òkè”, which translates to “The potentials in the water are greater than those on the land.” 

Hon. Olumekun who is also the President of the Association of West African Exporters and Maritime Professionals, AWAEMAP, highlighted the untapped opportunities in maritime trade, transportation, tourism, and fisheries, which could significantly boost the state’s revenue and create jobs for its people.  

As a leader deeply invested in the progress of Nigeria’s maritime and export sectors, Hon. Olumekun expressed his readiness to collaborate with the Ondo State Government in initiatives aimed at harnessing the Blue Economy for the benefit of the people.  

He concluded by wishing Governor Aiyedatiwa a successful tenure and pledged his unwavering support for efforts geared toward advancing Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole.
