Immediate past Face Of Maritime International Queen, Adaeze Charlyn Udom has offered scholarship to Miss Eniola Aduniyi, a Kogi-state indigene  who emerged 2024 FOMI Miss Intellectual during the just concluded 9th edition of the Face Of Maritime International, FOMI beauty pageant held in Lagos, Nigeria.

Queen Adeaze, is a staff of National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA who also contested under the umbrella of NIWA in 2022 and emerged Winner of the prestigious maritime industry pageantry for the 2022/2023 Service reign.

After serving out her one year reign, Queen Adaeze decided to give back to the FOMI brand who made her a beauty Queen by offering One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000) Scholarship Fund to Miss Eniola Aduniyi, Winner of FOMI Miss Intellectual Award 2024 in support of her pursuit for knowledge and academic excellence.

Miss Eniola won the FOMI Miss Intellectual Award by scoring the highest marks in all the quizzes and tests conducted by lecturers and facilitators during the one week camping of the models in Lagos ahead of the Grand Finale.

Responding to the development, the Executive Director of FOMI, Mr. Sylvanus Obasi commended former Queen Adaeze for her kind gesture, describing the act as legendary and inspirational.

According to Mr. Obasi, “FOMI is just less than 10 years old, and we already have a former Queen giving back to the brand by way of offering scholarship to a contestant to support her educational pursuit. This for me, is very inspiring, motivational and legendary, considering that she’s our 7th Queen and the first to do this.

“It also tells you the kind of training, orientation and mindset we imbibed in these queens while working with the management during their service reign: ‘a mindset that teaches them that it’s in giving that you receive; a mindset that challenges them to think of what you can do for FOMI not just what FOMI can do for you.’ This is what Queen Adaeze has exemplified. She has not just thrown a big challenge to other beauty queens out there, but she has also written her name in gold as far as FOMI is concerned and posterity will remember her for good in the maritime sector”, Obasi stated.

Speaking further, the frontline maritime journalist revealed that Miss Eniola is currently seeking admission in the tertiary institution of her choice, adding that the N100,000 Scholarship Fund will be used to pay her tuition fee as soon as she gains admission in any tertiary institution of her choice.

Meanwhile, Queen Adaeze also informed the management of Face Of Maritime International that she has decided to make the Scholarship offer a yearly contribution to FOMI as she plans to give out N100,000  each year to whoever would win FOMI  Miss Intellectual Award in subsequent editions of the contest.

Recall that Former Queen Adaeze Charlyn Udom, an indigene of Oguta LGA of Imo State stands 6ft tall. She holds Bsc and Msc in Policy and Strategic Studies from Covenant University. She is also a certified Educational Leader from Harvard University, Boston, USA.

She has written 4 books, two of which centred on Education, one on Entrepreneurship, and the other a collection of poems. Queen Adaeze is also a staff of National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA Lagos Area Office.
