MARAN Congratulates New NRC Managing Director, Kayode Opeifa

The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria, MARAN)l has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, Kayode Opeifa.

In a congratulatory letter dated January 22, 2025, MARAN President, Godfrey Bivbere described the appointment as well-deserved, citing the appointee’s exceptional track record in the transportation sector.  

“As a highly accomplished transport expert of repute, we are confident that your wealth of experience and academic qualifications will positively impact your new role”, the letter stated.  

The association acknowledged the appointee’s previous accomplishments, including serving as Commissioner of Transport, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership, intellectual brilliance, and a strong work ethic.  

MARAN expressed confidence in the new Managing Director’s ability to build on the successes of his predecessor and drive the NRC to greater heights. The association also assured him of its unwavering support in achieving the goals of the Corporation.  

The letter concluded with a commitment to collaboration, emphasizing MARAN’s readiness to work with the new leadership to advance Nigeria’s rail transport system.  

This appointment comes at a crucial time as stakeholders look forward to innovative strategies and policies to revitalize and expand the nation’s railway infrastructure.
