Ex-ANLCA President, Shittu, Admiral Amauche, Others To Unveil WoFHoF Co-operative Society

To provide better affordable basic human needs products and service experience as well as satisfaction in the co-operative society space, a gender-based non-governmental organization, NGO, MMS Woman of Fortune Hall of Fame, WoFHoF Initiative is set to inaugurate  WoFHoF Co-operative Multi-Purpose Society with automated system and real-time digital platforms for members.  

Expected as guests of honour to be part of the unveiling and inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 in Festac Town, Lagos are: the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Skelas Group, Prince Olayiwole Shittu; former Flag Officer Commanding Sea Training, Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral Anthony Amauche (rtd); Dr. Ada Onwuka, seasoned banker and financial services consultant; Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, Hon. Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Co-operative, among others.

The event which will also feature guest speakers and a corporate Road-Walk by women and men to mark the 2025 International Women’s Day, IWD will be chaired by Mrs. Adaku Okam, former Director, Human Resources, Nigerian Shippers’ Council, NSC.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday in Lagos by the organizers, the Acting Executive Secretary, Ms. Chinwe Okafor-Mefor, the inauguration of the community and member-products-based co-operative society to mark the IWD is to reinforce the role of women in building sustainable homes and businesses in every society.

Registered under the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Co-operative, she added that they were also planning to take up the State’s co-operative insurance policy to mitigate risks associated with sudden deaths, accidents and other forms of incapacitations, adding that they are equally open for meaningful collaborations and partnerships with financial institutions and government agencies as well as associations.

According to Okafor-Mefor, the Managing Partner of Temerity International Experts Limited, Mrs. Temilade Oguniyi is billed to speak at the event on the topic: “Modelling Women for Career and Business Growth” while, the Lagos Zonal Commander, National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, Mrs. Comfort Agboko, will speak on “Quit Gender-Based Violence in Work and Business Places.”   

WoFHoF Co-operative Multi-purpose Society is an initiative of the MMS WoFHoF Initiative, a non-governmental organization, NGO focused on gender inclusion, leadership, mentorship, capacity building and role modeling for younger generations. With close to 120 distinguished role models as Hall of Famers and Amazons, it has empowered over 3,000 women in different capacities over the years.
