… Receives Primetime Reporters’ Role Model of the decade award

The Managing Director of Muna Sylver Nigeria Limited, Hon. Princess Chi Ezeh has encouraged the federal government  to avail women more leadership opportunities in the maritime industry in Nigeria.

Princess Chi who is also a Governing Board member of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria, CRFFN made this appeal on Tuesday while receiving a “Role Model Of The Decade” award from Primetime Reporters, a publication of Chisann Communications.

Speaking on the recent International Women’s Day, IWD 2025 themed #AccelerateAction, Princess Chi observed that across the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and its agencies, there is no woman at the helm of affairs as Chief Executive.

According to her, the poor representation of women leaders at the helm of affairs in the Ministry as well as its departments and agencies, implies that women aren’t adequately recognised and empowered in the sector.

Princess Chi, who is also a Vice President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders, NAGAFF, Western Zone, argued that women will deliver optimally if given an opportunity at the helm of any maritime agency.

Speaking on the award, she said; “I feel so excited because it’s not easy to be recognised in a male dominated freight forwarding sector. I am also thankful to God who gave me the strength and opportunities to get the modest achievements that I have been able to record in business and as a leader in the industry.

“When I look at my position as a Governing Board member of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria, CRFFN and the National Vice President of NAGAFF, I know that it wasn’t just by hard work or power. It is by God’s providence that I have been able to get to the position that I am occupying today. I’m so honoured and excited.”

Noting  that it is a privilege to be adjudged to have attained the enviable status of a role model for women in the freight forwarding sector, she vowed to be more industrious and build on the good things that have fetched her accolades in recent years.

“After receiving this award, I will improve my commitment to sensitisation for women in freight forwarding business. The goal is to promote gender equality and inclusiveness”, she added.

While presenting the award, the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief, Primetime Reporters, Mr. Saint Augustine Nwadinamuo, applauded Princess Chi for showing young women the path for success in freight forwarding.

Nwadinamuo also encouraged the freight forwarding amazon to prioritise mentoring the younger generation of women to be tenacious and resilient.

The award was part of the activities to mark the 10th Year anniversary of Primetime Reporters which took place at the Welcome Centre and Hotels, Airport Road, Lagos on December 4, 2024 with the theme, “Leveraging Technology To Maximize The Potential Of Nigeria’s Blue Economy.
