The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu has sued for calm, assuring that the command is already in contact with the relevant security outfit to identify the suspect to ensure that justice is served.

This is following a report of the regrettable incident at Ibeto junction, Nnewi in the evening of Tuesday 15th April, 2025 where a trigger-happy security operative shot a lady who was later identified as Chiamaka Okeke which resulted to her death.

A statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga in Awka on Wednesday, said that investigations were currently ongoing assuring that further developments would be communicated to the general public.

It will be recalled that a woman identified as Chiamaka Okeke was allegedly shot along the Ibeto junction on Tuesday by yet to be identified official of the Operation Udo Ga – Achi otherwise known as Agunechemba security outfit who fired sporadically in an attempt to clear the traffic at the junction for their patrol vehicle to pass through.
