The National President of APFFLON, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, in a statement in Lagos on Sunday described Akinola’s appointment as well deserved, pointing out that it was expected that Dr. Akinola would bring his wealth of experience to bear on promoting the Minister’s engagement with the stakeholders, the media and the general public.
Describing Akinola as a maritime expert whose year of practice had impacted the overall development and growth of the industry for almost three decades, Ogunojemite said, “We have no doubts that this latest appointment by Minister Oyetola would further cement the relationship between the industry stakeholders and the ministry which has hitherto been non-existent.
“We believe that Dr. Akinola coming on board would further avail the ministry a firsthand information on happenings in the sector and he would now be able to feel the pulse of the operators on effect of government policies, and even take actionable feedback for the overall growth of the industry.
“We at APFFLON commend the Minister for this appointment, it is a round peg in a round hole.”
He, however, charged Dr. Akinola to use his new position to foster collaboration and dialogues which would promote the freight forwarding industry at the port.
“Dr. Akinola, a highly respected maritime and corporate communications expert, brings over twenty-five years of extensive experience and deep industry knowledge to his new role.
