…Says Tinubu needs Kwankwasiyya leader to actualize second term dream

A socio-political group, Youth Alliance For Better Nigeria has called on the Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP in 2023 presidential election, Senator Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to join the All Progressives Congress, APC in order to join hands with Tinubu to salvage Nigeria and get it working again.

The convener of the group, Hon. Ufuoma O. Adievuwhare otherwise known as Comrade Abalaka who disclosed this in a chat with our correspondent in Lagos on Monday, stated that the group, after a meeting three weeks ago in Warri, Delta state, agreed that Kwankwaso was the man that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu needed now to make his 2027 dream a reality.

According to him, after a careful look at the events in the country in recent times, particularly the killings in Benue, Plateau and other parts of the country, the group agreed that no one else but Kwankwaso who was the only civilian in Nigeria to have served as a Minister of Defense in the country was most suited for the position of the Vice President of Nigeria in this trying time.

He said, “We know that the machinery is already set in motion and everybody knows quite well that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is running for second term and by the special grace of God, he may be reelected for the second tenure.

“So, after taking a closer look at the polity generally, we are begging Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso at this stage of Nigeria, because he is the first Minister of Defense that is civilian and when he was the Minister of Defense, we saw what happened in Nigeria. When he was the Minister of Defense, insurgency was not like this. He handled it perfectly well. We need somebody like that with his experience, as a statesman to come and salvage Nigeria at this period.

“Let’s remove politics and party affiliation, we are going to beg him, if it means to mobilize one million Nigerian youth to go and meet him in his house at Wuse, Abuja, we will mobilize and go there and beg him to accept the position of the Vice President and come onboard to save Nigeria.

“2027 is around the corner, is it the ADC that wants to sack Tinubu or is it Labour? We are seeing it, everybody is seeing where it’s going. We are begging him so he can come, work with Tinubu and salvage Nigeria. The insecurity is too much, people are dying. How long are we going to be playing politics with insecurity?”

Speaking on the capacity that the group wanted Kwankwaso to work with Tinubu and the APC since it has not been clear that Tinubu and APC wanted him to replace Kashim Shetima, the incumbent Vice President, Adievuwhare who contested for House of Representatives in the 2023 National Assembly election under the platform of NNPP said, “In the US, when Obama wanted to contest for the US President, I think Powell was a Republican but he supported Obama because he was a statesman. He removed politics out of it.

“Kwankwaso is an elder statesman, before he even joined NNPP,  Kwankwaso is the leader of Kwankwasiyya Movement spread around the north and around southern Nigeria, the same way (Peter) Obi is the leader of Obidient Movement, you can’t rule that one out.

“Among all the politicians, is it Atiku, El-Rufai, name them, which one of them has the antecedent like Kwankwaso? Tinubu as a politician, is the incumbent President, he has the federal might, everything to stage a comeback as President in 2027. There’s no argument about that, we want somebody that will work with him and save Nigeria.

“Come along with Kwankwasiyya Movement, the red cap, come along, join APC and let them merge. Come along and work with Asiwaju Tinubu. When APC was formed, we had CPC, they were in APC but recently, they pulled out of APC. When Kwankwasiyya joins hands with APC, the second term is a good deal for Tinubu.

“Kwankwaso is not a sit down and look politician, he is an active politician, you can’t just dismiss him with a wave of hand. Asiwaju knows that. Before Asiwaju picked Kwankwaso, he knew who he was, you can’t push him away.”

Reminded that Tinubu had not picked or publicly made his intention known that he wanted to run with Kwankwaso come 2027, he said, “Yes! It is still in the realm of rumour. We are going to beg him (Kwankwaso) because right now, we want to salvage Nigeria. It is not about Christian or Muslim or idol worship, it’s not about APC or PDP to salvage Nigeria.”

On what happens if Tinubu fails to pick Kwankwaso as his running mate in the 2027 presidential election, the Youth Alliance For Better Nigeria convener said, “Kwankwaso has been in politics even before 1999. Kwankwaso was a deputy speaker, he became a governor, minister of defense and a senator. That will tell you his antecedent. I believe strongly that there’s no position that Asiwaju will give Kwankwaso other than the Vice President.

“At this stage, Kwankwaso does not need Asiwaju, Asiwaju needs Kwankwaso. Kwankwaso is a bride. If Obi picks Kwankwaso and they merge, 2027 is gone for Tinubu.

“Nigeria needs Kwankwaso, you can’t throw him away, he is a bride. So, among those people that want to marry him, I strongly believe that Asiwaju might be the best to marry him. It takes a politician that is not intelligent not to recognize the political value of Kwankwaso at this point in time.”

Reminded that as Vice President, if it eventually happens, Kwankwaso may not achieve a lot as he will be playing second fiddle, he said, “Atiku did it when he deputized Obasanjo and till today, his antecedent is there which makes the people still talk about Atiku till now.

“In 2023, the marriage between Kwankwaso and Obi, Kwankwaso has more antecedent, Obi has antecedent, they were to marry. Buba Galadima said that assuming that marriage scaled through, he would have been in Paris by noon drinking coffee because he knew that marriage would have sealed Tinubu’s fate.

“They would have won Tinubu in 2023, assuming Obi and Kwankwaso agreed. I see them gallivanting, instead of them going and striking a better deal with the man that owns Kano, the man that owns the grassroots in the north, all those people gallivanting, they are gone politically.

“Go to the north, ask for Kwankwasiyya, you will know Kwankwaso is the Kwankwasiyya in the north. Aside from Buhari which the grassroots know in the north, Kwankwaso is the most popular politician in the north presently.”

Comrade Abalaka maintained that the Youth Alliance For Better Nigeria would do everything possible including occupying his residence in Abuja to ensure that Kwankwaso joins APC as according to him, “Kwankwaso is the Renewed Hope that the people are talking about, even him Tinubu has as an agenda” adding that “When you look at Kwankwaso from the beginning to the end, you will see the renewed Hope in him.”
