The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that he has no preferred candidate in the ongoing Governorship Primaries of the APC in Ekiti State.
Thirty-three aspirants including two former governors of the state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Mr. Segun Oni are battling for the ticket of the party for the July 14, 2018 governorship election in the state.
However, Tinubu in a message on his twitter handle on Saturday described all the aspirants to the governorship ticket as very dear members who deserve the right to participate in the primaries.
As he puts it,” On Ekiti State APC Primaries: I have put my own political gear in neutral. I have no anointed candidate. Everyone there aspiring and contesting are very dear members and they deserve the right to participate. About 33 of them in all and we only need one of them for governorship”.
He added that he liked the fact that the aspirants showed up respectfully and were all committed to the peace and stability of the party in the state during the discussions the party leadership had with them.
“We have had leadership discussions. I like the fact that they showed up respectfully and are all committed to the peace and stability of the party in that state”, he said.
