The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, PCN, Uratta Parish, Amakohia, Owerri, Imo State will on Sunday, 15th of July, 2018 ordain a renowned activist and journalist, Chigozie Patrick Uzosike an Elder of the Church.

Chigozie Patrick will be ordained alongside 12 other persons who will mount to the elevated position of serving God, especially that they have what it takes to ensure the growth of the Church. The other Elders-Elect are: Chinyere Uduma, Edith Kalu Okpo, Okorie Nwoke, Nene Loveday Aboaja, T.K.Onwu, Basil Obasi Nmecha, Obaseoyi Ndukwe Ukpai, Obinna Nzie,  Chidiebere Onwuchekwa, Tony Okoi, Victoria Amah and Mary Kalu Eme.

Chigozie Patrick who is the President, Sanctuary Department and Head of Revival/Evangelism Committee of Orji Congregation, noted that the elevated position is for him, a call to service in God’s vineyard.

He assured that he will work and serve God with every fibre in him while appreciating the PCN for finding him worthy to be elected.

He urged his friends and well-wishers to do him the honour of gracing the occasion which starts by 10:00am.

Chigozie Patrick Uzosike who is the Secretary, Editors Forum, Imo state posited that he will not allow the work of God to grow cold; stressing that service to God and humanity is the best work of life.

He appreciated the effort of the Moderator, Owerri Presbytery, Rev. Ndukwe Ukpai JP for understanding that there is need to draft more Elders in the fold to strengthen and assist the ministers in the Church.

It would be recalled that the eldership ordination will be the fourth and the highest number in the history of Uratta Parish, where in 1998 when Uratta Parish was inaugurated, it had seven persons ordained as Elders, in 2002, six Elders were ordained while in 2012 six persons had their ordination.

The Elders-Elect commended the Minister -In-Charge Uratta Parish, Rev. Ndukwe Ukpai, JP, the Session Clerk, Elder Mrs. Lucy Okereke, the Board Chairman, Elder Okechukwu Kalu Okpo, Rev. Godwin Agbor, Rev. Sunday Inyama, Rev. Chimaobi Nwoke and Rev. Nkemjika Chukwu and all the Elders for all their commitment in ensuring that the Church moves forward, while calling on them not to relent as God’s blessings await them.

Chigozie Patrick called on all and sundry to look for any nearby Presbyterian Church of Nigeria and worship as according to him, the church preaches salvation, true word of God and believes in the priesthood of all believers.

Chigozie Patrick who is also the Convener, Coalition of Journalists Against Corruption (COJAC) used the opportunity to advise politicians to desist from campaigning before the INEC approved dates, adding that defaulters might risk court action from the Coalition.

He urged politicians not to overheat the polity with personal attacks but to engage in issue-based politics that will push good governance to the front burner.
