The PTML command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has collected a total of Seventy Billion, Three Hundred and Six Million, Four Hundred and Seventy-Eight Thousand, Five Hundred and Twenty-Three Naira, Forty Kobo (N70,306,478,523.40) in the first five months of 2020.
According to a statement by the Customs Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Mohammed Yakubu, the amount exceeded the Sixty-Two Billion, Three Hundred and Sixty-Three Million, Eight Hundred and Sixteen Thousand, Seven Hundred and Eighty Naira (N62,363,816,780.00) recorded in the corresponding period in 2019 with a surplus value of Seven Billion, Nine Hundred and Forty-Two Million, six Hundred and Sixty-One Thousand, Seven Hundred and Forty-Three Naira, Forty Kobo representing an increase of 12%.
The statement stated that the feat was as a result of increase in cargo throughput and diligence on the part of the officers and men of the command.
