Police nab 30-year old man for allegedly defiling minor

30-year old man, Sunday Akanigbo of Amakwa Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State has been arrested for allegedly defiling a twelve year old girl.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police command, SP Haruna Mohammed who confirmed the arrest in a statement in Awka on Thursday, at about 1.45pm on Thursday, Police operatives attached to Ozubulu Division arrested the suspect over the alleged crime.

Mohammed disclosed that the suspect had in the month of April this year allegedly defiled the victim while his accomplice one Ikemefuna Muoma, 28, of same address was also arrested for filming the dastardly act.

“Meanwhile, suspects have voluntarily confessed to the offences and the video clip was recovered in their possession as exhibit. Scene was visited by police detectives and victim taken to the hospital for medical examination”, he stated.

He noted that the Commissioner of Police Anambra State, CP John Abang had directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal investigation Department, Awka for discreet investigation after which suspects would be charged to court for prosecution.
