The governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has urged Christians across the country to open up and allow Jesus Christ a free reign in their hearts this Easter and beyond.
In a special Easter Message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, James Eze, Governor Obiano observed that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has delivered eternal victory to mankind.
According to him, “when we allow Jesus to reign in our lives; we have allowed love, peace and happiness to dwell in our hearts. And when there’s peace in our hearts, there will be peace in the world because only a peaceful people can create a peaceful world.”
The governor assured Ndi Anambra that the state remains the safest and most peaceful state in Nigeria pointing out that the era of public safety and prosperity that his administration has ushered in the state in the past seven years has continued to grow from day to day.
He commended the officers and men of the Anambra State Police Command for rising swiftly to the occasion and securing the release of his Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne who was abducted by hoodlums during a recent attack on the former CBN governor, Prof. Charles Soludo in his Isuofia hometown.
Governor Obiano regretted the loss of lives that resulted from the mindless attack and prayed for instant healing for the bereaved families and survivors of the officers who lost their lives in the gunfight.
“As Nigeria’s safest state, our resolve will always be tested by the criminal elements we have put out of business, but we have always come back stronger. Public safety is tied to liberty and the price of liberty is eternal vigilance. We shall continue to stay awake to ensure that Ndi Anambra can sleep with both eyes closed”, he assured.
He also assured that very soon the criminals behind the cowardly act would be arrested and brought to judgement.
Governor Obiano therefore urged the citizenry to celebrate Easter with their families in peace and harmony because God would never desert Anambra State in her hour of need.
