The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has appealed to its members, maritime industry practitioners and other numerous admirers of Miss Blessing Uchechukwu Eugene to remain calm over her dethronement as the reigning Face of Maritime International (FOMI) 2020 by the organizers.
Mr. Stanley Ezenga, National Publicity Secretary, NAGAFF, who made this appeal in a statement in Lagos on Thursday recalled that about a week ago, there was an announcement of the dethronement of the FOMI Queen 2020, Miss Blessing Uchechukwu Eugene, an action which he said seemed to have incensed a section of the society, including NAGAFF members and stakeholders in the maritime industry and was capable of disturbing the peace.
Ezenga further recalled that “Miss Blessing Uchechukwu Eugene was sponsored by the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) at the 2020 FOMI Beauty Pageant, in which she emerged victorious in spite of the shenanigans of the organizers.”
“It beats our imagination that some men and women of proven integrity like the Former DG of NIMASA, Temi Omatseye; Public Relations guru, Lami Tumaka; accomplished Maritime industry practitioner, Bola Mus, and a host of others, who have built a huge reputation over the years, would agree to be members of Board/Ambassadors and be associated with an organization which is notorious for disregard for due process and a long history of exploitation of girl-child by fraudulently denying people of their entitlements.”
He however appealed to all who felt insulted and embarrassed by the announcement to remain calm as the NAGAFF high command would at the appropriate time make its next line of action known to the public to ensure that justice is served to Miss Blessing Uchechukwu Eugene and numerous others who had suffered one form of injustice or the other in silence, while ensuring that perpetrators of this injustice were brought to book to serve as deterrent against future occurrence.
It will be recalled that the Executive Director of FOMI, Mr. Sylvanus Obasi had in a statement recently in Lagos announced the immediate dethronement of Miss Blessing Uchechukwu Eugene as the reigning Face of Maritime International (FOMI) citing double standards, indiscipline, brand disloyalty and abdication of duties as the reasons for her dethronement, a development which did not go down well with NAGAFF.
