Lagos State Government donates two operational vehicles to NDLEA

The Lagos State Government has donated two operational vehicles to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to boost its activities in the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking across the State.

The vehicles donated through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) were presented to the State Commander NDLEA, Lagos State Command, Barr. Ralph Igwenagu at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja today.

Presenting the vehicles on behalf of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu by the Director of Administration Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Mr. Degbola Lewis representing the Executive Secretary of the Board, stated that this is in fulfillment of Lagos State Government promise in helping security agencies in the state to fight crime and criminality.

He noted that the state government appreciates the efforts of NDLEA as one of the lead agency that are in the fore front in the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking in the state in particular and the country in general.

While receiving the vehicles, the State Commander, Barr. Ralph Igwenagu thanked the state government and the good people of Lagos State for always supporting the agency with logistics and other sundry supports. He promised that those vehicles will be judiciously used for operational activities to curb the menace of this monster called illicit drugs in all nooks and crannies of Lagos State.

The State Commander appealed for more support from all stakeholders and well-meaning individuals to continue rendering necessary assistance to NDLEA Lagos State Command because the fight against drug abuse is a collective responsibility adding that “together we can tackle it effectively.”
