The executive Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Mallam Uba Sani, on Tuesday 11 July, 2023 paid a courtesy call to the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja.
In his remarks during the brief meeting, the Governor showered encomiums on the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) for their immense support to the state, while calling for more support to boost security in kaduna and environs.
Governor Uba Sani noted that Kaduna state is the heart of Northern Nigeria which needs relative peace and harmony to strive. He added that the state is willing to support the AFN with local intelligence and any other necessary assistance to enable the Military discharge its constitutional responsibilities unhindered.
The CDS in his response, thanked the Governor as the first to visit following his appointment. Major General Musa assured the governor of the AFN commitment to supporting all parts of Nigeria, especially Kaduna state to combat insecurity.
According to the Defence Chief, the AFN is looking at reviewing its operational modalities with the view to enhancing capabilities for a better result. He added that the kinetic and non-kinetic approach to AFN’s operations will be strengthened to boost the fight against criminality in the country.
Major General Musa also stressed the need for youths engagement in meaningful activities in order to reduce crime. In this regard, he called on the media to always promote love and unity in their reports.
The CDS however, noted that one of the challenges facing the Military in the discharge of its duties, is the administrative bottlenecks involved in the dispensation of judicial cases involving criminals handed over to the civil authority for prosecution.
Highlights of the visit includes the exchange of Souvenir and photo sessions as a reminder for the rare visit.
