Customs CG orders dissolution of Strike Force Team

The Acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Mr. Adewale Bashir Adeniyi has approved the immediate dissolution of the Comptroller General of Customs, CGC’s Strike Force Team.

This is contained in a circular with No. EII/2023/CIRCULAR NO.004 and signed by the Deputy Comptroller General of Customs in charge of Enforcement, Investigation and Inspection, Mohammed Abba-Kura on Monday 17th July, 2023.

The circular directed all officers under the teams to return to their commands or units where they were drawn from.

It further directed the Strike Force Coordinators in respective zone namely A,B,C, and headquarters to ensure that “all arms and ammunition are to be properly handed over to the respective Area Commands/Units/Headquarters where they were signed from.

“All operational vehicles are to be handed over to respective Controllers Federal Operations Unit (FOU) and returns forwarded to the Headquarters respectively. Coordinator Headquarters Strike Force Team should retire operational vehicles under his team to Comptroller Transport & Logistics.

“Records of detentions, seizures and cases in court and any other vital records/information are to be handed over to Controllers of FOUs across the zones while Coordinator Headquarters Strike Force Team should retire all records under his custody to the office of DCG Enforcement, Investigation and Inspection (E,I&I).”

The circular while commending and appreciating the services rendered by the Strike Force Team, directed all concerned to ensure strict compliance with immediate effect.
