Anambra: NULGE Re-Elects Chikwelu Adigwe Samson As President For Another 4 Years

The members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Anambra State Chapter, recently re-elected Comrade Chikwelu Adigwe Samson as President for the next 4 years.

 Others elected to work with him are as follows: Deputy President – Aromeh Nicholas; Treasurer – Atuenyi Chimezie, Publicity Secretary – Nweke Nnamdi, Francis, Nwafor Chukwudum–Auditor and Nwaeze Chinwe –Auditor.

Others included Ononye Patrick – Trustee; Nwizu Peter – Trustee; Uche Nworah – Welfare Officer; Eucheria Uyawuna – chairperson (women representative) and Ifediora Sylvester – young workers representative.

Comrade Chikwelu polled a total of 185 votes to defeat his only rival, Comrade Victor Muo who polled 11 votes.The election took place at NULGE’s House, Awka, during its 8th Quadrennial State Delegate Conference.

Speaking shortly after he was declared winner, Comrade Adigwe thanked all who made it possible for him to emerge for the second time running, especially the members of NULGE in Anambra State, promising never to betray their trust or abuse the privilege.

He commended the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo for providing an enabling environment, before, during and after the exercise, even as he appealed to aggrieved members of the Union to support his administration for the benefit of all, emphasizing that NULGE had only one executive in Anambra State.

The election was supervised and witnessed by the National body of the Union led by its National President, Comrade Akeem Ambali Olatunji, the State House of Assembly member in charge of Labour Matters, Hon. Kingsley Udemezue, Anambra Government representative and Member 1 at the State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Azubuike Okoye, the Police, DSS, Vigilante group and the media, among others.
