The Olu of Warri thanked God for the successful elections, noting that the speculation over post-election violence was aborted by His mercy.

“The election was conducted peacefully and I am pleased with the way it went. There was widespread speculation of violence during the election but I thank God that it was conducted peacefully. “People have been elected, some we wished and some not as we wished, but we thank God for all of them. We pray that through them there will prosperity for all of us,” he was quoted as saying by NAN.

The Warri monarch also thanked God the gift of life and the opportunity to celebrate and praise His name.
