The management of Anambra state owned Orient Petroleum Resources Plc. on Monday said the company was targeting to increase its crude oil production to 3,000 barrels per day by September.
Orient Petroleum Resources Plc was established by the Chinwoke Mbadinuju’s administration at Aguleri-Otu, Anambra East local government area of the state where a large volume of oil deposits was found.
It was however commissioned officially in August of 2012 by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
But the Managing Director of the oil company, Mr. Sunny Okoye told newsmen after a meeting of its Board of Directors and Governor Willie Obiano in Awka Monday that arrangements had been concluded with an indigenous company, Nails and Stanley Ltd. to establish a gas plant at Umueje in Ayamelum Local Government Area and that the company had stepped up activities in two new oil wells in its Aguleri oil fields that would shore up the company’s production capacity to 3,000 bpd before the end of September this
year.
