The Seme Area command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) exceeded its monthly revenue target of N1, 021, 790, 667.33 for the first time in the last three years within the month of November.

The command hit the roof with a duty collection of N1, 273, 235, 058.91 which represent 125%.

The Command also made 46 seizures with Duty paid value (DPV) of N7, 263,750.00 for the period under review.

The seized items included bags of rice, frozen poultry products, vegetable oil, vehicles etc.

The Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC), Deputy Comptroller Sabo Hassan said that since he assumed leadership position in the command barely one month ago, he vowed to work strictly in compliance with the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC)’s policy thrust of increasing the revenue profile of the command.

He re-iterated that his quest for a spectacular performance in revenue generation was in line with the clarion call made by the CGC.

The Acting CAC solicited the cooperation of officers and men of the command, the critical stakeholders and opinion leaders in the host community to consolidate on this impressive performance of November in December, 2015.

He restated his commitment to achieving better and greater result for the service.

He also craved the indulgence of all and sundry to put in their best in actualizing this onerous task
