The Management and Staff of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has felicitated with the Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the globe, especially those in the maritime industry, on the successful completion of the Holy month of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid el Fitr.
In his goodwill message, the Director General, Dr. Dakuku Peterside congratulated Muslims for the successful completion of the month of Ramadan and called on them to remain steadfast in their prayers for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
The DG who said that the month of Ramadan wa a period of fasting, alms giving and supplication to the Almighty observed by Muslims all over the world also expressed confidence in Nigeria’s political and economic prosperity.
According to Dr. Peterside, “we join all our Muslim brothers in Nigeria and indeed all over the world, especially in the maritime industry to celebrate the successful completion of the Holy month of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid el Fitr.
“The month of Ramadan is a very important period in the Islamic calendar characterised by dawn to dusk fasting, giving of alms, prayers and supplication to the Almighty for the forgiveness of sin.
“While wishing our Muslim brethren a happy Eid el Fitr celebration, it is our sincere hope that as members of one family, we all will continue to live a pious life of chastity and love for one another to engender peaceful co-existence and prosperity for Nigeria”.
The DG assured stakeholders of the agency’s resolve to spearhead the rejuvenation of a vibrant maritime industry that would create jobs, generate wealth and contribute positively to Nigeria’s economic development.
