The National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) has called on the new Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Ms Hadiza Bala Usman to commence immediate overhaul of the agency.

The Executive Secretary of NARTO, Mr. Aloga Ogbogo who made this call in a chat with newsmen in Lagos also advised the MD to visit the ports as according to him, there were lots of illegalities going on at the ports.

“She also needs to look at the operations of the concessionaires. NPA as the landlord is not doing the needful, a lot of things she needs to put in place there. The port access roads are in complete state of disrepair. There is a lot of ills, a lot of operational challenges that need to tackled head on.

“She has to realize that she has a lot for her to do and most importantly, she needs to carry the critical stakeholders along because we are the only people who will tell her what is going on at the ports”, he said.
