Speaking on the event, the Managing Director/Editor-In-Chief of Primetime Reporters, Mr. Saint Augustine Nwadinamuo said that the event was aimed at reviewing the activities of the news medium which came into existence on the 11th of February, 2014, so as to see how well it had fared in dishing out news and information to the public and identify areas of growth in the years ahead.
Nwadinamuo pointed out that while the medium had established its presence in the nation’s maritime industry, the coming years will see the medium expanding into other sectors of the economy in order to truly give it the general interest image which it was originally set out to be.
According to him,” Originally, Primetime Reporters was cut out to be a general interest online newspaper covering all aspect of the society, but you know as they saying goes, one dare not bite more than he can chew, we decided to start with a particular sector, which is the maritime sector where we had a comparative advantage as at that time. But with this anniversary celebration, we have come of age because a three year old baby is no longer expected to be under suckling rather, such a baby should be eating solid foods at that age. So it is with Primetime Reporters.
“So, we seek to use this event to announce our arrival to the masses and to tell them that having done so well in the maritime sector in the last three years of our existence, we are poised to do even better in all other sectors of the economy in our expansion vision”.
He further said that the event would be used to appreciate and honour some Nigerians who had distinguished themselves in their various field of endeavours.
