The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Awka, Anambra state has warned the general public against falling prey to the antics of unscrupulous elements who hide under the name of the University to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians of their hard earned money in the name of giving them admission in the institution as the institution has not commenced admission processes for the 2017/2018 academic session.

The warning was contained in a statement issued in Awka on Tuesday by the University’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu.

The statement advised the general public to dismiss the rumour making the rounds suggesting sales of Post UTME forms as activities of unscrupulous elements who were bent on defrauding the unsuspecting public.

It further disclosed that the university’s management was yet to decide on any cut-off mark thereby urging the public to disregard the rumours and await verified and formal information from the university authorities.

“This is to inform the general public for the umpteenth time that Nnamdi Azikiwe University has NOT commenced admission processes for the 2017/2018 academic session.

“The General Public is advised to dismiss the rumour making the rounds regarding the sales of Post UTME as activities of unscrupulous elements who are bent on defrauding the unsuspecting public.

“Again, the university management is yet to decide on any cut-off mark, hence people should discard the rumours and await verified and formal information from the university authorities.

“The University has formal channels for the dissemination of information which include the website (www.unizik.edu.ng) and the UNIZIK bulletin. The General Public is hereby advised to be wary of the nefarious activities of these admission racketeers and should constantly keep a tab on the university’s website for any form of information”, the statement said.
